Colby's 2nd Birthday
Colby turned 2 a couple of weeks ago. He is a really fun little boy. He is such a great part of our family. I love the stage he's in. He just started to really talk in the last month or so. Before that he knew about 20 words (and had some of his own language too) and could communicate well enough, but in the last month he has started talking like crazy, full sentences. It's great. I love the way he enunciates and pronounces some words. "Socka Ball" "fire werks" "dighpur" I love it when he comes up to me and says, "Mom, I wanna snuggle." I love his blond hair, I don't know how it is so blond, but I love it and his big blue eyes. I love the little twinkle they get when he's excited or has done something for the first time or when he knows he's in trouble. :) Thank you Colby for being such a wonderful little boy. (I will add pictures from his party soon)

Fourth of July
The night before the 4th, the kids participated in a kid's parade in Centerville. They LOVED it. Doug got Hailey ready and being the observant Mom that I am, I didn't notice until we got to the race that Hailey was riding a bike in a dress!! Colby was SO fast, it was scary. He doesn't use the pedals, just Flintstone style, but he goes at a mock speed. He was weaving in and out of fellow parade bikers and he even gave a few flat tires to mom's pushing strollers, sorry! We had to run to keep up with him.
For the Fourth, we started off by taking Hailey to run the 1/4 mile kid's race. (She has been telling us for weeks that she wanted to run in the race....when the race started, she changed her mind, I think her expression tells it all. We'll try again next year.)
Next we went to the Kaysville parade with Whitney, Kimby, Ben and Samantha. Doug was in the parade for Search and Rescue. July 4th is actually my dad's birthday and so that night we went to a big bbq in his honor and did fireworks. (sorry, I forgot to take any pictures) Colby is obsessed with fire "werks", he asks daily if we can go watch fire werks.

Memories
Here are the rules:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Hailey's Preemie Party
About 6 weeks ago, we went to a Teddy Bear Preemie Party at the University. It was a great opportunity to meet other kids that were premature and their families. Afterwards, we decided to take the kids on their first train/trax ride. They really enjoyed it, don't let Colby's face in his picture fool you. :) It was a really fun day!

Mischievious Kids
About two months ago or so, I found this pink bucket with hair in it that looked quite a bit like Hailey's hair. Upon asking her if she cut her, she first tried to change the subject and then realizing we had the evidence in hand, fessed up to it. Luckily her hair was pulled up at the time of cutting and so it's easily covered up.

The other incident occurred while Doug was weeding the yard. Colby found a tree with a muddy base and in the end he looked like a dog named spot.

RAGNAR RELAY
I am so behind in posting. I am going to try and get caught up in the next week or so. About a month or so ago Doug and some family and friends participated in the Wasatch Back (Ragnar Relay). I was supposed to run too, but my knees haven't been cooperating lately and I got the no go from my physical therapist about 2 1/2 weeks before the race. Thanks Buffy, for stepping up and running my legs with such short notice! :) I was really bummed to not be able to run. But, I went along for the trip as the driver. It was a blast! Not much sleep, and the little sleep that was had was on a wrestling mat of a high school gym floor. Our team did awesome! We took third place in our division, yeah Bronze Gods!! Way to go Ship's Wrecks!
