Congrats on baby #3!!

Our really good friends, Kent and Beka Madsen, just had their 3rd little boy this morning. He is absolutely adorable. He was 6 lbs. 8 oz. and 19" long. We anxiously await their decision on his name. We are so grateful that Beka was able to carry him as long as she did. Congratulations to the Madsens! We love you guys!

Latest pics of Colby

They haven't scabbed over yet. The Dr. thought they might not since he got the vaccination. Who knows. All I know is that he is miserable. But, he is such a trooper. He still is such a sweet boy.

It's CHICKEN POX!

I just got back from the doctor's office. They have determined that Colby's rash is chicken pox. He got the chicken pox vaccination just 10 days ago. They figure he was either exposed to chicken pox before he received the vaccination or in some cases, 1 in 1000 to be precise, the vaccinated child gets full fledge chicken pox. Since he's my son and given my history with percentages....I'm betting its the latter. Wish us luck. Here's a few pictures of him. It's getting worse by the hour and he's itching like crazy! Enjoy the progression from last night.

I'm so ready for spring....I am sick of my kids getting sick!

So, my kids started getting the croup like cough about two weeks ago. They had it for about two days before it knocked them down flat. I took Colby to his 18 month well check a couple of days later. He wasn't really "well" but I thought we may as well kill two birds with one stone. At that doctor appointment we found out that Colby had an ear infection and was wheezing. (every cold goes straight to his chest, he struggles with asthma a little) So, he had a breathing treatment and we ended up getting him his own inhaler and chamber, along with some antibiotics for the ear infection. The kids got over their coughs a few days later. Colb kept tugging on his ear though and was running a low grade fever. About a week after his doctor appointment, he started to act so weird. Wouldn't touch his food. (Anyone who knows Colby, knows this is HIGHLY out of character for him, he's an eating machine!) Whining and wimpering in his sleep. He woke in the middle of the night with a really high fever. And was inconsolable for hours. It seemed like he was in a lot of pain. (He was up from 2:30-7 a.m.) I took him in to the Dr. yesterday and they told me he has bad ear infections in both ears (stronger antibiotic this time) and probably a virus on top of that. They said to call if he gets worse. Well, last night he started getting little red bumps all over his body and he was just feeling miserable. The rash spread like crazy through the night and his entire body is covered. Poor kid. I'm about to go to the doctor in an hour to find out what it is. Wish me luck. I'll post my findings.

Once again, my pictures won't flip :)

Colby at the Cabin

So, I've been meaning to add these pictures of Colby for days now. (This week has been crazy, I will explain in the next post) I wanted to add some pictures of Colby at the cabin. He kind of got left out of the last post. He loves to pull faces in pictures just like his sister.

President's Day

We went up to the cabin with most of Doug's family over the weekend. It was so much fun. There was tons of snow. We had some awesome sledding. We took the inner tube from the tractor tire shown in an older post. We blew it up and could fit 6 people on it! I need to get some pics from my sister-in-law of the sledding. I learned how to shoot a handgun. Doug did a lot of snowmobiling and shoveling (there was too much snow on the roof).

Princess Hailey

Hailey LOVES to dress up as a princess. She is princess obsessed, to put it mildly. It seems that this is a phase that all little girls go through. It was a little surprising when she started getting so into princesses about six months ago or so, just because I hadn't really pushed it or anything. It was like overnight she woke up and LOVED the color pink and princesses. :) She knows all about them now too. On most days, her favorite is Aurora. I think it is so cute to hear her tell me their stories. She says, "Mom, don't worry she's not really dead. Her prince will come and kiss her and then they ride off on a horsie and she's okay, so don't be sad." Here are a few pics of her dressed up.

Tractor Tire

So, as many of you know, our family really likes CrossFit. It's a great way to work out. Any questions, see http://www.crossfit.com. Well, our friend Kent Madsen had access to some used tractor tires. (Doug has been wanting a tire, because there are some workouts you can do with the tire, lifting, tipping, jumping, etc. ) We were meeting them for dinner and totally spaced bringing the truck to carry the tire back. So, they put it on the rack of our tiny Saturn. I had to post these pictures because it's hilarious to look at. We got a quite a few funny looks on our slow drive home.

Best Friends

We're so lucky that our kids get along so well. They really are best friends. (At times these best friends fight, but for the most part, its smooth sailing). The cutest thing is that most of their hugs/loves are initiated by Colby. He adores Hailey.

Colby LOVES wearing shoes (especially those that are not his own), he has actually gotten pretty good at walking around the house in Doug's shoes.

My Birthday

I turned 26 in January. It's amazing how fast the years have gone by. It's crazy to think that I have been out of high school for almost 8 years! I seriously don't feel that old. Anyway, Doug took me to Cheescake Factory (my ultimate favorite place) on my birthday. Hailey felt that if it's your birthday, then you absolutely must blow out candles in a cake. So, we brought home some cheese"cake" and after my soccer game she helped me with the honors.

Pics from Whit's Camera

I finally got the pictures off of my sister's camera. There are some cute ones from the Cabin right after Christmas. Whit also did a makeover on Hailey one day. She straightened her hair and put make-up on.

"Ba-pa" and Colby

Yay! So, after 2 weeks, I can finally get the internet to let me upload pics. (Only problem is that they are not rotated correctly once uploaded, but at least they are there) Here are a couple cute pictures of my dad and Colby. These two are the best of friends. They even look alike. Many people have commented since Colby was a baby on how much he looked like Grandpa Scott. It's so cute to see Colb's face when he sees his "ba-pa" and he always cries so hard when grandpa has to leave.

Problems Uploading Pics

So, I have tried to post a new blog for over a week now and every time I try, it will never upload any pictures. It brings up the box and I choose the pics I want and then it takes forever and ever and never ends up letting them being uploaded. Anyone else have a similar problem?
